Definition
- “Baekdu-daegan” refers to the major mountain range that stretches from Baekdusan Mountain to Jirisan Mountain through Geumgangsan Mountain, Seoraksan Mountain, Taebaeksan Mountain and Sobaeksan Mountain.
1-2. “Ridgeline” designated by a Presidential Decree refers to smaller mountain ranges that branch off from Baekdu-daegan to form the watershed of major rivers. - "Baekdu-daegan Protection Areas" are areas within the Baekdu-daegan that are recognized as requiring protection and are designated and notified by the Administrator of the Korea Forest Service under Article 6.
